We believe God can comfort the broken-hearted, bring freedom and provide for all those who need it.

Isaiah 61:1-4 is the founding passage of Renew Church. It describes how the Gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to bind up the broken-hearted, bring freedom to the captives, comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve. They are given a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

THIS is the power of the Gospel- It doesn’t just help you along or fix an aspect of your life, the Gospel makes you brand new. The old is gone, the new has come.

And we believe in the power of renewal. We believe that renewal goes beyond just experiencing God’s love for ourselves. We believe that those who have been renewed themselves are the greatest advocates for the renewal of others.

In Isaiah 61, the renewal turns into a commission as they are called to go out and restore and rebuild and renew the ruined city. This is our hope for Los Angeles. The once sick become healers. The once broken-hearted now spread joy. And the once ruined become builders.

Renew Church is, above all things, Gospel-centered. Our church has intimate, authentic relationships and promotes diversity, healing, and transformation. Our church is missional, beautiful and full of the supernatural.
