About Seamen’s Church Institute
The Seamen’s Church Institute is comprised of a talented cast of highly-trained chaplains; former towboat, blue water, and Coast Guard captains; transport drivers; educators; attorneys; finance, development, communications, and Human Resources professionals; and others, who give their heart and soul to supporting seafarers and mariners both far and near. While our origins lie in the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion, we are now both ecumenical and interfaith in our ministry, mission, staffing and board representation. Since our founding in 1834, the Seamen’s Church Institute has set the standard for mariner advocacy, education and pastoral care. We meet the mariner wherever they may be, and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them on their best and worst days.
