About Westminster Presbyterian Church
Our mission is to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as a community and individuals. This includes being open to God’s life-saving grace; giving ourselves to each other in support and nurture; welcoming all openly and inclusively; reaching out locally and globally in hope and service; worship that is open to and inclusive of various Biblical interpretations and musical styles yet faithful to our Presbyterian and Reformed heritage; faithful discernment and development of our individual and corporate gifts; fostering the spiritual growth of children, youth, and adults through Christian education; and faithful stewardship of God’s creation.
We aim to adapt to the changing needs of our community and church while staying true to our faith and our own history as a church. Our prayer is to be a reformed, reforming congregation that demonstrates God’s reality in Jesus Christ and help build up God’s kingdom on earth and establish Jesus’ way of justice, peace, love, healing, and reconciliation, through our worship, spiritual development, Christian education, fellowship, mutual support and care giving, prayer, and service.
In short: to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as exemplified in Micah 6:8, Psalm 100:2, James 2:14-22, Mathew 25:34-40, to be inclusive and non judgmental, reformed and always reforming, to work for peace and justice and be open to God’s grace and love.
