    Job Description

    OVERVIEW
    The Youth Ministry Coordinator will help fulfill First & Calvary’s mission of making disciples of Jesus by leading our youth to grow in their faith and make disciples.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Candidates for the Youth Ministry Coordinator position are experienced ministry leaders who are
    passionate about Christ and excited to disciple and lead students. Other qualifications include:
    ● a growing and deepening faith in Jesus Christ
    ● experience coming alongside those who are spiritually seeking
    ● a heart for ministering to youth
    ● ability to understand and relate to students and their families
    ● a commitment to team ministry
    ● strong communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills
    ● a self-starter who welcomes a challenge
    ● experience planning events and activities
    ● experience recruiting, equipping ministry team volunteers
    ● a high school graduate with a minimum of some college course work completed
    ● a willingness to embrace our denomination’s Constitution, including our Essential Tenets, Polity, and Rules of Discipline (our denomination is ECO, the Covenant Order of Evangelical
    Presbyterians)

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Primary responsibilities will revolve around leading youth ministry to include:
    ● work alongside lay leaders and the Associate Minister of Discipleship to oversee and assist with the spiritual formation of youth from 6th through 12th grade
    ● seeking out and developing mentoring and discipleship relationships with students
    ● participating and coordinating Sunday School, Youth Group, outreach events, service projects, retreats, and/or mission trips
    ● integrate youth into the life of the church
    ● encourage youth to discover and use their spiritual gifts
    ● attend Youth Team meetings
    ● lead and recruit a team of student ministry volunteers
    ● assist leading youth through the confirmation process

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    This is a part-time (15-20 hours/week), hourly position. There is a possibility to expand this role
    with the addition of children and family ministry responsibilities if interest and experience apply.
    The Youth Ministry Coordinator will report to the Associate Minister of Discipleship.
