Reports to: Church Board/Pastor
Benefits: 2 weeks paid time per calendar year
The Children’s Ministry Director grows & sustains meaningful relationships with children birth-6th grade & their families to guide their growth in Christian worship, discipleship, mission, & evangelism.
-Growing relationship with Jesus Christ; an understanding & willingness to lead others in the Wesleyan tradition of the Christian faith.
-Ability to be Ministry Safe certified & maintain timely & effective communication with the congregation & church staff.
-Ability to learn & employ social media & other software used by the church.
-Attend & give leadership to various aspects of weekly worship in partnership with other staff.
-Encourage & facilitate children & their families to attend, participate, & serve in worship services.
-Recruit & equip volunteers to regularly guide the formation of children & their families.
-Work across ministry areas to integrate Children’s Ministries into the life of our congregation.
Mission and Evangelism
-Organize, plan & lead children and their families in regular mission activity in local and global contexts including an annual vacation bible school, sports camp, or other similar community wide outreach.
-Model personal evangelism and provide opportunities for children and their families to share why they follow Jesus and how God is working in their lives.
-Develop, and lead a team of key personnel whose function is to cast a guiding vision, set goals, and offer support for all ministry activities.
-Recruit, supervise, and coordinate scheduling of all Children’s Ministry volunteers and nursery staff, ensuring their compliance with Ministry Safe policies.
