We are prayerfully seeking a full-time Pastor who manifests the qualities of an Elder as listed in the Bible (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9). We are seeking a gifted and experienced Discipleship Pastor who is competent to lead worship, able to preach and teach, and is able to provide pastoral counseling when necessary. This person must have a pastor’s heart and a desire to develop qualified lay-leaders who are able to participate and lead in the ministries the Pastor of Discipleship and Worship will help develop and oversee.
The role of the Pastor of Discipleship and Worship includes (1) leadership over our worship and A/V ministries, (2) preaching between 8-12 times a year, (3) the development and oversight of our Discipleship Pathway, and (4) oversight and leadership development of lay-leaders in both our Young Adult and Youth Ministries.
Meadowbrooke’s worship and A/V ministries is an integral and strategic part of our worship service. It is the desire that the music ministry of our church serves to teach the congregation something about who they are and much of who God is. We are seeking a candidate who believes that the congregational songs we sing must be theologically sound before they are considered culturally relevant. We also expect the Pastor of Discipleship and Worship to incorporate scripture, prayer, and other mediums that help the congregation understand and know God better.
Preaching & Teaching is an important part the life of Meadowbrooke. The Pastor of Discipleship and Worship will share in the preaching and teaching ministry of Meadowbrooke. The Lead Pastor will preach no more than 40 Sundays during the calendar year while the Pastor of Discipleship and Worship will preach 8-12 Sundays out of the year with those of his worship team leading the worship of Meadowbrooke on the Sundays he is scheduled to preach.
Meadowbrooke’s Discipleship Pathway is a developing system that includes Life Groups, a future recovery group, and a 4-week Partnership Pathway (our version of a membership course). We believe that discipleship begins before conversion and the goal is that each disciple of Jesus becomes an active disciple maker. The goal is that the discipleship pathway will be the one system of Meadowbrooke that helps us more effectively develop followers of Jesus who prayerfully engage their communities with the gospel.
Meadowbrooke’s Young Adult and Youth Ministries are an important part of the life of our church. Both the Pastor of Discipleship and Worship and the Lead Pastor will share the responsibility of the continued development of the Young Adult ministries of Meadowbrooke and the oversight of a lay-leader led youth ministry that presently requires some pastoral oversight over the Youth Group.
The expectation is the Pastor of Worship and Discipleship will be an active member in our church as well as meet the qualifications of an Elder. He will also need to be an active member of a life group. Our ideal candidate is someone who plans to complete or has completed Bible college or seminary training, is ordained or seeking ordination, experienced in leading worship, competent in audio visual equipment, able to preach and teach, and provide pastoral counseling when necessary.
All qualified candidates must have a pastor’s heart and a desire to develop ministries. The Pastor of Discipleship and Worship will be expected to commit to a work week of no less than 40hrs a week with a salary of $60-72k.
