Troy United Methodist Church, a growing and active congregation located in Troy Texas is searching for a Music Director to lead our Praise Band and Traditional Worship music. We will consider hiring for the sole role of Praise Band Leader for the qualified applicant at reduced salary.

Troy United Methodist Church is located in a high growth area and is seeking to live into Christ’s call to make disciples for the transformation of the world. We feel our worship and music ministries are a vital component of living into that call of discipleship. We are searching for someone who can help us continue to grow our music ministries and help create Spirit-filled worship services.

Benefits: Director of Music Ministries• 15 hours a week• 2 weeks paid vacation yearly

Responsibilities: Director of Music Ministries• Work with Sr. Pastor to develop quality musical experiences for all of our worship services• Lead weekly praise band rehearsal• Recruiting, leading, and overseeing volunteer musicians and singers• managing budget for band and church music related expenses• Developing a chancel choir to sing anthems for special worship services• Recruiting and assisting musicians and singers to offer special music during worship• Leading music for children during Vacation Bible School, assisting Children’s Director in offering musical opportunities for our children’s ministries.

Requirements and Qualifications • High school graduate• Completion of college degree or working toward completion preferred• Musical ability to lead a praise band with guitar or piano and sing in a worship setting• Strong singing ability • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment• Pass a background check and maintain sexual abuse prevention Ministry Safe Certification while employed at Troy UMC
