    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    – Oversee, recruit and train Sunday morning hospitality teams
    – Provide oversight, leadership, care, development, and execution of Connect Groups
    – Responsible for the oversight, development, and administration of the discipleship pathway (i.e. first impressions and connections, guest communication, assimilation process, and Vineyard Voyage)
    – Oversee and develop men’s and women’s events and ministry
    – Play an active role on the preaching team

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Pastoral Care

    – Provide pastoral counseling (including, but not limited to, premarital, crisis, grief, spiritual formation, and marriage/family)

    Ministry Oversight

    – Responsible for the oversight, development, and administration of the Vineyard Voyage process as well as future Vineyard Basic classes
    – Help LAVC reach its goal of making disciples that make disciples by providing oversight for a clear and fruitful discipleship pathway
    – Maintain and create efficient systems for assimilation and connection with guests
    – Execute two semesters per year of Connect Groups (small groups, life groups, and classes)
    – Recruit, train, and provide support for Connect Leaders
    – Advocate for the importance of discipleship through  Connect Groups amongst the staff and church body
    Oversee, recruit and train Sunday morning hospitality teams (i.e. Welcome Team, Cafe Team, Usher Team, Connection Team)

    KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

    – Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven and multi-priority environment
    – Maintain confidentiality
    – Dependable, detailed, organized, and a good time-manager
    – Strong interpersonal, relational, verbal, and written communication skills
    – Coordinate a staff of people (encourage, oversee, guide, and assist)
    – Must be willing to continue to grow and learn skills that will lend themselves well to this role
    – Friendly and sensitive to a wide range of people from all different ages, racial, gender, and socio-economic backgrounds
    – Excellent administrative, communication & computer skills
    – Must have the ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from others
    – Must be faithful and have a “whatever it takes” attitude
    – Must be highly professional
    – Must have experience in public communications, team building, training, and management
    – Must be able to preach and teach
    – A natural passion for God and Small Group Community
    – An affinity for the development of leaders
    – Ability to lead others and create/sustain organizational structures
    – Familiar with church growth and health
    – Loyalty and dedication to LAVC, mission, values & leadership
    – Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    – Bachelor’s Degree
    – 3-5 years proven experience managing and supervising a staff of volunteers and discipling and caring for people in a pastoral context
    – Master’s Level certification or degree in related field and/or advanced training in orthodox Christian theology and biblical leadership
    – Previous experience in development and oversight in a church context
    – Proven experience in casting vision and leading missional disciple-making communities
