Job Description
Auburn Church of Christ’s mission is: transforming all people with the love of Jesus. ACC is seeking an Associate Minister whose primary responsibility will be to serve as Youth Minister for those in Grades 6-12. Depending on the successful candidate’s abilities and interests, secondary responsibilities in the areas of congregational discipleship, small group ministry, counseling, music/worship, and Christian education are possible. This individual must have a heart to display and share the transforming power of Jesus with kids, students, and their parents.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Youth Ministry
1. Oversee ACC’s Youth Ministry (6th-12th Grade) by recruiting and training volunteers, maintaining a yearly calendar of programs and events, administering curriculum, teaching and leading student groups, etc.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with students and adults, both churched and unchurched
3. Build and maintain strong working relationships with other area youth ministers, church camp personnel, Christian youth organization leaders (e.g., Lifewise Academy, Youth for Christ, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, etc.), and public, Christian, and home school groups

Family Ministry
1. Maintain a Family Ministry partnership with ACC’s Children’s Director
2. Participate in the planning and execution of regular Family Ministry events
3. Equip and encourage the parents of our congregation

General Associate Responsibilities
1. Preach as needed
2. Teach adult Bible Studies as needed
3. Officiate weddings and funerals as needed
4. Provide pastoral care as needed
5. Participate in all scheduled staff and leadership meetings
6. Oversee the development and maintenance of ministry budgets
7. Assist with other ministry opportunities as needed based on spiritual gifting and ability/experience

QUALIFICATIONS

Personal Qualifications
1. Immersed, obedient believer in Jesus Christ
2. Familiarity with and acceptance of Restoration Movement doctrinal tenets
3. Cooperative and collaborative spirit; willingness to learn
4. Genuine love for people as shown through communication, cooperation, and personal relationships
5. Selfless and flexible attitude, demonstrated by a willingness to meet needs and serve in areas beyond formal responsibilities when necessary
6. Strong desire to grow spiritually and professionally
7. Along with spouse (if married), become an active member of ACC

Professional Qualifications
1. Restoration Movement Bible College/University graduate preferred
2. Youth ministry experience preferred, including strong track record of working with groups and recruiting and training ministry volunteers.
