    Position Description

    To direct and oversee all children’s ministry nursery through 5th grade, childcare and ministry to families at Hope Fellowship.

    Responsibilities

    ·       To develop an engaging Sunday morning program that reaches each child on their level.

    ·       Pray for the children and children’s ministry workers.

    ·       To recruit, screen, background check and schedule all volunteers working with children.

    ·       To provide necessary training and encouragement for all children’s and childcare workers

    ·       To research and prepare an engaging curriculum for each age group that encourages         spiritual growth

    ·       To create a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families

    ·       To encourage parents and provide resources to assist them in the spiritual formation of their children.

    ·       To manage children’s ministry and childcare budget

    ·       To meet and align with the Senior Pastor for ministry at Hope Fellowship

    ·       Communicate vision for children’s ministry to other groups and leaders within the church

    ·       Coordinate childcare needs at church related events

    ·       To organize and execute a Summer Vacation Bible School or equivalent.

    ·       Participate in training opportunities as offered.

    Character & Conduct Qualifications

    ·       Must have a strong commitment to the vision, mission, purposes, and philosophies of Hope Fellowship.

    ·       Leads a disciplined life of daily fellowship with God and Bible study.

    ·       Evidences biblical character in personal life, family relationships, and ministry.

    ·       Has a genuine heart for shepherding the body, specifically children and their families.

    ·       Must be in harmony with the church and respectable to the community.

    ·       Attendance, tithing, prayers, and presence must be in support of Hope Fellowship.

    ·       Must be a servant leader and capable of submitting to fellow leaders; not quarrelsome or belligerently independent.

    ·       Must have a passion for developing community among the followers of Christ.

    ·       Strong interpersonal skills.

    ·       Organizational and administrative skill.

    ·       Must be adaptable to perform under stress when confronted with an urgent situation.

    ·       Maintains enthusiastic, and self-starting approach to meet job requirements.

    ·       Implements decisions in accordance with prescribed and effective policies.

    ·       Accepts supervisory instruction and direction.

    ·       Communicates with all guests, members, and fellow employees in a courteous and respectful manner. Displays a positive attitude in all interactions.

    ·       Must be willing to learn and embrace the West Coast/Seattle culture.

    ·       Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

    Outcomes and results – success in this position will result in:

    – Growing numbers of children involved with children’s ministry.
    – Growing numbers of volunteers helping with children’s ministry.
    – A consistent, stable number of volunteers helping with childcare
    – Well attended outreaches targeting families with children
