    Southern Heights Christian Church in Lebanon, Missouri is excited to announce an opening for a FT Children’s Pastor for Southern Heights Christian Church. SHCC is an established church of approximately 275 that has a young and energetic staff anxious to build on current momentum that has been fueled by recent staff restructuring. This process has included an emphasis on team-driven ministry, embracing a fail-forward culture, and a “push-down” model of decision making for the sake of empowering ministry staff to dream and grow their spheres of responsibility as led by the Holy Spirit.

    The Children’s ministry has several spaces that have been remodeled in recent years, over 60 current volunteers, and expects to see around 500 unique birth-5th visitors by the end of next year. At present, the ministry averages approximately 50 children per week. This is an incredible opportunity for a self-driven individual to come alongside the current team as we seek to Love God, Love People, and Share Jesus in our community.

    The Children’s Pastors primary responsibility will be to oversee all aspects of programming for the weekend and midweek services for birth through 5th grade. This includes the coordination of all volunteer systems and processes. In addition, it is expected that the Children’s Pastor fosters a love for reaching young families in the community that aren’t currently engaged in SHCC. The person assuming this role will need to understand the development of systems and processes for volunteer coordination, community outreach and discipleship of young families. To perform the duties of this role adequately, it is necessary for candidates to show a history of creativity, strong work ethic, and a willingness to embrace a team ministry concept. The elder board and staff relationships are incredibly strong and healthy and we are excited to add another pastor to our team.
