Job Description
Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church is looking to hire a pastor who will assist our Senior Pastor in shepherding the flock and executing the vision of Safe Harbor. Our Assistant Pastor will lead in the areas of small group fellowship, Christian education and outreach, and will assist in the areas of pastoral care, preaching, and creation of programs. The candidate must reflect a strong personal integrity as well as modeling a heart of service. He must have a strong desire for evangelism and discipleship as well as an unflinching commitment to the Word of God as an anchor for all of life.

The candidate must be ordained or prepared to be ordained in the PCA. He would report to the Senior Pastor and assist with leading worship, attend staff meetings and regularly meet with the Senior Pastor for discipleship and prayer.

Job Requirements Are as Follows:
• An MDiv or equivalent degree
• Commitment to the doctrinal standards of the PCA
• Strong relational capacity
• Strong teacher of God’s Word
• Willingness to grow and be shepherded under the care of the Senior Pastor

Primary Responsibilities:
• Assist the Senior Pastor in establishing strong material for Christian education and discipleship
• Develop a vision for mercy and outreach both within the church and outside of it.
• Regularly visit, encourage, and pray with families of Safe Harbor

Other Responsibilities:
• Active participation and leadership in Christian education and small groups
• Encourage the participation of youth in all areas of church life: worship, missions, service, etc.
• Lead worship in rotation with the Senior Pastor and elders of the church
• Preaching every 6-8 weeks
• Regularly update the Session on activities and challenges

Hours and Compensation:
• This position is a full-time, salaried position
• Compensation commensurate with experience
