Job Description

Kingsland Baptist Church of Richmond, Va. is a church family with an active, living, and growing faith in Christ Jesus. We exist to glorify God through the mission statement of Kingsland with worship and service. We are seeking a full-time Next Generation Pastor to join our ministry team.

Professional Qualifications

1.  Be of mature Christian character whose life reflects the characteristics of I Tim. 3 and Titus 1.

2.  Subscribe to the Statement of Faith, Constitution, By-Laws, Goals,   and Policies of Kingsland Baptist Church as well as the             Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

3.  Possess or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in ministry.

Responsibilities

Youth Ministry

1.  Lead and coordinate various youth activities for grades 6 through 12. These include Bible study, small groups, Wednesday               evening programs, mission trips, camps, retreats, and special events.

2.  Build relationships with youth and parents by personally getting to know them and helping them to get closer to God.

3.  Be able to teach compelling Bible lessons that encourage students to desire a deeper spiritual life.

4.  Teach, encourage, and promote meaningful prayer culture in the ministry and lives of the students.

5.  Build relationships and community within the youth group through games and activities. Must be able to promote and have fun!

6.  Recruit and build a close relationship with the adult leaders that assist in the youth group ministry.

7.  Develop student musicians to lead worship during youth meetings.

8.  Oversee and manage the youth ministry budget.

9.  Build relationships with local Middle and High Schools.

10. Win students to Christ; disciple them, and minister to their family.

11. May be required to preach during Senior Pastor’s absence.

Next Generation

1.  Oversee, Support and Assist Preschool, Children and College-aged departments (everyone under age 21). Reaching and                 ministering to generation Z.

Accountable Relationships

1.  Participate as a team member within the Pastoral staff.

2.  Maintain scheduled office hours within the church building.

3.  Report to the Senior Pastor for the coordination of ministry programs.

4.  Communicate to parents regarding youth ministry programs and events.

5.  Other pastoral duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Skills and Abilities

1.  Current on software and technology relating to youth and worship ministry.

2.  Personable and teachable spirit; willing to learn and grow.

3.  Able to organize the day-to-day operations of ministry programs.
