OVERVIEW
King of Kings seeks to hire an church planting resident who will serve our congregation for two to three years, depending on experience, before planting a mother/daughter congregation in the West Valley. The purpose of this residency is to: (1) gain experience living and ministering in the larger Phoenix area, (2) develop an appreciation for and understanding of King of Kings and our desire to plant a daughter church, and (3) confirm one’s gifting and calling for planting in the West Valley. This full-time assistant pastor position is focused primarily on the establishment of a daughter congregation from King of Kings, but will include several pastoral responsibilities as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES *

1. Planning and oversight of corporate worship
2. Pastoral visitation
3. Leadership development, including but not limited to church officers (elders and deacons)

1. Membership process and oversight
2. Discipleship intentionality
3. Diaconate Ministry
3. Plant a Church
1. Develop a workable strategy for a plant in a particular area of the West Valley
2. Discern notable continuities and discontinuities with King of Kings
3. Evangelize target area and get to know civic leaders

* Note: The list above articulates particular areas of focus, but the responsibilities of this position will also include that which the pastor in conjunction with the Session deem necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Biblical requirements in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
• Ordained Minister in the PCA (or pursuing ordination in the PCA)
• Graduate with Master of Divinity or higher degree
• 2+ years of serving in leadership within a PCA church

COMPENSATION
The compensation package includes: salary + benefits. This will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Benefits include: medical, life, and disability insurance; pension contribution (10% of total salary); special allowance for self-employment tax (7.65%); three weeks paid vacation per year. Salary will be 50% supplied from King of Kings; while the church planting resident will be responsible to raise the remaining 50%, thus demonstrating their ability to raise financial support.
