St. Michael’s Church, Anglican, is the second oldest and the iconic church in the center of Charleston, SC. We seek to be a multi-generational church reaching people from all walks of life.  We currently offer three different morning services and are in the process of planning a new evening worship service.  We are looking for an Assistant for Traditional Music to be the regular assistant organist and substitute for the 11am Traditional Service.

This assistant role is a 10 hour per week salaried position. Duties include accompanying the choir, joining the organ on piano for renewal and contemporary songs, and substituting for the Director of Music in case of planned or unexpected absence.  Secondary responsibilities include providing occasional preludes or postludes, supporting the choir in recruiting, minor music library work, and being available as necessary for weekly choir rehearsals (currently Wednesday nights 6:30-8pm).  Salary of up to $11,100 depending on experience and qualifications and four paid Sundays off.
