Summary of the Position:
Under the oversight of the Associate Pastor you will manage and care for all aspects of the youth ministry (6th – 12th grade). Our youth group currently meets bi-weekly on Sunday evenings. We have different social events scattered throughout the semester. We’ll be going on our second summer mission trip to Mexico this June. In the past we’ve had Sunday morning spiritual formation classes and summer bible studies. You will have opportunities to think and strategize new ministry possibilities!

Mentorship + Ministry Training:
This position will also give you the unique opportunity for intentional mentorship/ministry training. While you will be ministering to the youth, you will also be ministered to and mentored by the Associate Pastor. This will include weekly meetings that involve:
• Prayer and devotional reflections
• Discussion of a ministry book/case-study
• Talking through highs/lows of previous youth meeting
• Planning/strategizing for upcoming youth group/events
• Learning the general “how to do gospel ministry” and “how to live out this strange calling!”

Primarily Responsibilities:
• Minister the gospel to the youth in various contexts (Youth group, conversations at church, group meetings, one to one meeting)
• Aid parents in the spiritual formation of their students through encouragement, resources, announcing local seminars focused on youth/teenagers
• Teach and coordinate a bi-weekly evening youth group meeting
• Plan and strategize groups/events along side youth ministry volunteer
• Engage relationally with the students through personal discipleship.
• Maintain contact with students and parents through newsletters, keeping them informed of ongoing activities.

Job Requirements & Desired Qualities:
• At least one year of ministry experience (paid or unpaid)
• In the process of obtaining an MDiv or M.A. (Biblical/theological). Preferably from a Reformed institution.
• Teachable, works well with others, and desires to be mentored for gospel ministry
• Someone who understands “character over competency”
• Desires to work with and minster to students/teenagers
Compensation: This is a part-time internship. Compensation is TBD
