    Job Description

    Goal:
This internship is designed to give individuals an opportunity to deepen their personal walk with God by gaining valuable experience and training in both practical and theoretical aspects of full-time Christian ministry.

    We are looking for:
Passionate followers of Jesus who want to impact the world for Him. Talented and energetic individuals who want to help the student ministry of Bonhomme Presbyterian Church. Applicants need to be focused, dedicated, self-starters with a passion for students and their families.

    What we value:
    • Lively faith. Walking with God is your #1 priority.
    • Relational ministry. Student ministry is all about relationships. Interns need to be highly relational, and ready to invest in the lives of students.
    • A love for the church. Bonhomme is a church with two very different worship expressions on Sunday and a wide range of engagements throughout the calendar year.
    • Personal Integrity. No one is perfect, we know. But a life that is consistent from Saturday night to Sunday morning is important. Integrity requires honesty, consistency and accountability.

    Benefits of an internship:
    • To challenge and deepen one’s faith in Jesus Christ. This will happen as the intern steps out in faith and does things they never thought they could do as they trust in the Holy Spirt and partner with staff, volunteers, students and families and BPC’s congregation to accomplish God’s mission of sharing the Gospel.
    • Personal growth. Personal and work goals will be set, accountability encouraged, evaluations given, support and encouragement freely offered by staff and supervisor, all for the intern’s personal and professional growth.
    • The opportunity to discover, use and grow your gifts. The intern will be required to do a wide variety of things for the ministry (see below). The hope is that by the end of their time, the interns will have a clearer picture of how God might have gifted them and where he may be calling them to exercise those gifts.

    Responsibilities:
The internship has both relational and administrative components to the job description. Goals will be set, tasks will be assigned, and expectations will be communicated and reviewed on an ongoing basis. The work will vary week to week but includes but is not limited to: administrative tasks, ministry contact appointments, ministry event planning, staff meetings, Sunday morning church, Wednesday night leadership in Student Ministry, missions opportunities, as well as events – i.e. retreats on the weekends with late nights, early mornings, and bus trips etc.

    A concise list is below:
    1. Connect with students like crazy. Create relationships. Go to games, concerts, plays, meet for coffee, etc.
    2. Help plan and execute creative programming where students can invite their friends and grow in their relationships and faith in Jesus Christ.
    3. Collaborate with Staff and volunteers to plan and execute student programming.
    4. Help plan and attend summer camps. [June 11-16]
    5. Help plan and execute VBS with the help of students.
    6. Regular participation in Sunday Worship
