Purpose: The Director of Rise and Shine Ministries will promote, plan, and implement ministries for faith development in our children. The Director will facilitate current programming and seek to implement new initiatives for discipleship and growth in
children (from birth to young adult).

Working Relationships: Accountable to the consistory, through the Rise and Shine Ministry Team. Executive committee oversees human resource issues through the personnel committee.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide oversight and visionary leadership.
a. Build and maintain ministries that emphasize vibrant faith in kids.
b. Coordinate Shine Jr. and Shine Kids programs and curriculum.
c. Oversee and approve spending for programs.
d. Participate in staff meetings on a weekly basis.
e. Collaborate with other ministries, event planning and/or new initiatives.

2. Develop a highly relational ministry by building positive long-term relationships with children and parents.
a. Work with various volunteer leadership teams to promote Christian commitment, discipleship, and spiritual growth in our children.
b. Provide regular and up to date information for parents and church community.
c. Encourage intergenerational relationships as a way to foster resilience in our youth.

3. Support the leaders of our various Children’s Ministries.
a. Train, equip, and encourage leaders in respective ministry areas.
b. Maintain “Safe Church” procedures for volunteers.
c. Provide help and strategies for finding volunteers.
