PURPOSE:

The position of Director of Children and Youth Ministries is responsible for providing a year round environment and opportunities for children and youth to grow in their relationship with God through Jesus Christ with the goal of building a strong foundation of faith to last a lifetime.

POSITION:
The position of Director of Children and Youth Ministries is a part-time position with the primary purpose of facilitating a meaningful ministry to children and youth. This position involves creating, marketing, leading, coordinating, integrating and supporting children and youth programs that are both educational and experiential.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide development, leadership and oversight for:
a) Preschool and elementary ministries and junior and senior high ministries, to include:
1) Sunday morning classes
2) Midweek programming
3) Summer activities, camps and retreats
These responsibilities will include personal participation in the teaching ministry.
b) outreach programs to develop an attitude of Christian service within our local community and beyond which both grow personal faith and serve those in need
2. Market the above programs to the local community via a variety of appropriate and effective methods of communication to draw families into the church
3. Build a relational and effective Childrens and Youth Ministry team
4. Engage with parents

ACCOUNTABILITY AND RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Accountable directly to the Pastor, Head of Staff.
2. Coordinates with church staff and the Elder of Childrens and Youth Ministries and Personnel Elder (for any hiring in the Children and Youth Ministry that may be needed).
3. Works collaboratively, with a spirit of cooperation and holds the common vision of working towards the peace, purity and unity of the church.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: The Childrens and Youth Ministries Director
1. Must love the Lord and have a heart for drawing children and youth into a foundational relationship with God.
2. Knowledgeable in Childrens and Youth Ministries with at least 2 years of experience; 5 years is preferred
3. Knowledgeable in local county and state safety and security requirements
4. Experience in building, leading and overseeing teams
5. Very strong written and spoken communication skills
6. Ability to multi-task with high energy, strong interpersonal skills, and positive attitude
7. Team player and team builder with a focus on the vision of the whole church
8. Efficient time management skills, with the ability to balance numerous requirements.
9. Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as, part of a team
10. Demonstrated ministry leadership experience in a Christian church
11. Strong administrative, leadership and relational skills
12. Ability to use Excel, Word and Google Drive, social media platforms, such as: Facebook and Instagram and ability to learn other programs

Part-time: 20 hours/weekly

Range: $30.00 – 40.00 per hour
