Specific responsibilities will include: • Preaching the Word and administering the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism • Moderator of the Session • Providing pastoral care and counseling to church and community members • Pastoral oversight of all church committees, groups, and programs • Officiating at weddings and funerals, and pastoral counseling in preparation • Participating in the EPC / Presbytery of the East meetings and activities.
Candidates must be ordained or eligible for ordination as a Teaching Elder in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. This typically requires a Master of Divinity degree (or enrollment in an MDiv program), or the equivalent. We pray for a Pastor who is: • Spiritually strong and demonstrates the ability to teach from a Biblical foundation; our Pastor must be a strong believer in, and defender of, Reformed theology • Able to show grace with Biblical truth and accountability, and to relate strong Biblical teaching to today’s world and the listener’s lives • Caring and compassionate, with a vision to grow our church through spiritual leadership and evangelism.
If you believe God could be leading you to be part of our family here at Silver Lake Christian Community Church, please contact Shelley Hohn by email and include your Personal Information Form (available at epc.org/files/pif). We pray for all who are discerning their next call.
