Specific responsibilities will include: • Preaching the Word and administering the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism • Moderator of the Session • Providing pastoral care and counseling to church and community members • Pastoral oversight of all church committees, groups, and programs • Officiating at weddings and funerals, and pastoral counseling in preparation • Participating in the EPC / Presbytery of the East meetings and activities.
Position qualifications:
Candidates must be ordained or eligible for ordination as a Teaching Elder in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. This typically requires a Master of Divinity degree (or enrollment in an MDiv program), or the equivalent. We pray for a Pastor who is: • Spiritually strong and demonstrates the ability to teach from a Biblical foundation; our Pastor must be a strong believer in, and defender of, Reformed theology • Able to show grace with Biblical truth and accountability, and to relate strong Biblical teaching to today’s world and the listener’s lives • Caring and compassionate, with a vision to grow our church through spiritual leadership and evangelism.
