PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: To develop a spiritually healthy, engaging, loving, and growing church. Through the Pastor’s efforts, the First Baptist Church Tyrone (FBCT) members will be of a like-mind in their desire to growth spiritually, to fellowship joyfully, to support each other, and to reach out to the Tyrone and surrounding communities, sharing the Gospel with our neighbors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·      Preach sermons that are Bible-based and which declare the Bible as God’s infallible, inerrant Word

·      Work closely with the FBCT deacons

·      Work with the FBCT music director in planning worship services

·      Serve as Chairman of the FBCT church council

·      Supervise FBCT staff members

·      Serve in ex-officio capacity on all FBCT committees

·      Support all FBCT members and guests in their faith journey

·      Counsel and support those who come to the Pastor with needs

·      Provide leadership for the observance of church ordinances

·      Visit members in hospitals and homes to provide prayer and encouragement

·      Visit guests of FBCT and follow-up accordingly

·      Conduct funeral services, wedding ceremonies, and premarital counseling

·      Moderate periodic church business meetings

·      Represent FBCT to the Fairburn Baptist Association, the Georgia Baptist Association, and the Southern Baptist Convention

·      Participate in community activities and leadership groups

RESPONSIBLE TO:

·      God, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit for divine guidance

·      The FBCT Deacons for administrative matters

·      The FBCT Personnel Committee for personnel matters
