Nevada United Methodist Church is seeking an individual to lead the Youth Ministry for our church and community.  

The Person:

The Youth Director is on-fire for Jesus Christ and committed to creating an environment where youth can encounter and grow in Christ within the experience.   

We desire for her/him to have spiritual gifts in encouragement, faith, and/or teaching. He/she should be skilled in people management, be a good learner, recruiter, and motivator, and be willing to work as a team player. Creativity and flexibility are a must when working with teens, as well as the ability to laugh at oneself.

The Youth Director will be a stable and mature Christian eager to grow within his/her faith and encourage others to do the same. 

Duties:

An average of 10 hours per week for 48 weeks.  This time includes Sunday, one additional evening, and some preparation time.  Additional salary may be available for mission trips or special events as approved by the supervisor.

The Youth Director will develop a youth program that combines spiritual development and enhancement with fun/food/fellowship for youth from 6thgrade through 12th grade.  Creativity and latitude are welcomed within the position as the youth director grows.  

She/he will develop rapport with students to create an open and trusting environment where all youth feel comfortable tackling difficult issues, finding acceptance, and enjoying time together.

The Youth Director is accountable to the Lead Pastor.
