JOB DESCRIPTION:

We’re looking for a Worship Team Leader. The ideal candidate has musical training and experience appropriate to not only leading Sunday worship and teams, but also equipping and empowering others to lead or participate in worship teams. This is a half-time position, with the option of full-time with an expanded portfolio. In this case, the second half of the role would include such areas as communications, media (including social media) and tech.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Salary commensurate with skills, experience and Evangel’s overall salary grid. Paid vacation as per policy; personal days, comprehensive benefits package, RSP program. Some remote, flex-hours work is possible.

THE BIGGER PICTURE:
As our Worship Team Leader, you will be part of our Service Planning Team, shaping our Sunday worship gatherings towards helping newcomers understand and find faith in Jesus, while encouraging each member towards continued spiritual growth. You will be part of a staff team that invests in your individual growth within a supportive, collaborative and healthy atmosphere. You will have the chance to grow in leadership skills and spiritual formation. Plus, you will have the opportunity to live in one of the most exciting cities in the world!

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proficiency on keyboard or guitar, plus vocals. • Able to lead a congregation in worship. • Able to train, work with and lead musicians in playing together (involves chord charts, arrangements, consistent signals, rehearsals). • Able to train, work with and lead vocalists in singing together (involves harmonies, blending, rehearsals). • Able to mentor, empower and release new worship leaders.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• Theological/Bible education is a bonus, but not required. • Credentialing with PAOC (or willingness to apply) is strongly encouraged.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Applicant must have minimum 1 year experience in leading worship and leading a worship team.
