    Job Description

    The Worship Director’s primary responsibility is to facilitate musical worship for the congregation at Christ Fellowship Church for Sunday services and lead our people in the act of corporate worship. They will select songs which are theologically truthful and musically accessible. They will model heartfelt worship for the observing congregation. They will have a humble and pastoral heart, seeking not just to play music, but to lead our specific people to a closer connection with God. They will also participate in collaborative conversation on how we can build a more worshipful body.

    Overarching Job Responsibilities:
    *Work with the Pastor weekly to select songs which relate to and thematically enhance his sermon content, points of emphasis, and/or the liturgical season. Songs should be selected and sent to the Pastor for approval with appropriate notice so that changes can be made, if necessary. Songs should be consistent with EPC doctrinal standards.
    *Work on your Spiritual Development through time in the Word, prayer, meeting with other believers, etc.
    *Meet with the Pastor and/or the rest of the staff for personal and spiritual development.
    *Organize, coordinate, seek out, and build up musicians and vocalists from within the congregation of CFC.
    *Prepare slides along with tech volunteers, to ensure a smooth flow of songs during the service.
    *Work with sound techs, and worship coordinator re: schedules to ensure the scheduling of the various music ministries is clear and communicated effectively to all parties involved.
    *Organize and execute appropriate rehearsals each week, and communicate with the musicians/vocalists appropriately to ensure worship services run smoothly each week.
    *Occasionally lead the congregation in pieces of liturgy, Scripture reading, song information/background, etc. and provide direction and purpose for the singing portion of the services.
    *Choose a blend of contemporary and traditional (e.g. hymns) music for the CFC congregation to sing during church services. Ideally, traditional and theologically rich songs will be selected, but made musically accessible for our modern context.

    *PLEASE NOTE: Most worship services will be held on Sunday mornings at 10:15. However, there will occasionally be special events or services at other times where participation will be required (e.g. Good Friday, Easter, “Blessing of the Backpacks,” Christmas Eve, etc.).

    Job Skills and Qualifications:
    *Previous experience leading worship and organizing a worship team.
    *Knowledge of a variety of worship songs and styles.
    *Must be humble and teachable, with a mission to make Christ the center of worship.
    *Must be willing to work alongside the Pastor, staff members, and volunteers in a truthful and gracious manner.
    *Must be able to collaborate with a team
    *Must align with EPC doctrinal standards and the distinct beliefs of CFC (e.g. women in leadership)

    An Average Week May Look Like:
    2-3 hours of administrative work, selecting songs, sending emails, scheduling volunteers.
    1-2 hours of practice.
    2-3 hours at Sunday service, leading worship and fellowshipping with the body.
    0-1 hours of meeting with Pastor and/or the staff
    2-3 hours of spiritual and personal development, individually and with the body

    Compensation:
    This is a part time and at-will position, with flexible hours. This position is expected to take a maximum of 10 hours each week, and compensation will be $11,000 – $12,480 a year depending on the candidate. They will receive 4 Sundays off a year, but will need to be requested at least 1 month ahead of time. Additional time off may be allowed depending on the request.
