Position Description:
Grace Christian Reformed Church is searching for an individual who will lead the faith formation and worship ministries in our congregation. This would include providing leadership in the GEMS, Cadets and Sunday School programs, leading youth and young adults groups, equipping parents to disciple their children and promoting dynamic worship. This director will possess a vibrant and contagious faith in the Lord, supporting, encouraging, and training our congregants to develop a foundational
Christian world and life view.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, youth and adults in a Christian setting. They will also have experience planning worship services.

To include the faith formation and worship ministry needs of Grace Christian Reformed Church, this position has been designed to be full-time. However, it may be separated into two part-time roles depending on the qualifications of the applicants.

Qualifications:
– A professing Christian who affirms Reformed doctrine
– Passionate about implementing and leading ministry to children, youth and adults to support their spiritual growth
– Knowledge of and experience with teaching and leading youth
– Ability to organize, guide and support volunteer teams
– Skilled in planning group activities and multi-day programs for children and youth
– Experienced in designing worship services
– Demonstrate self-starter and self-motivated characteristics
– Good written and verbal communication skills
– Bachelor’s degree or higher in an applicable field of study

Faith Formation Ministries Duties and Responsibilities:
– Develop, lead and manage programs and activities for youth and young adult groups
– Equip and support group leaders with resources and encouragement
– Promote leadership development and succession planning of outgoing group leaders
– Provide scriptural / spiritual guidance to parents with children in their homes
– Encourage and facilitate members to share testimonies and faith stories
– If applicant is ordained and/or credentialed:
– Preach during services geared towards youth ministries (ie. GEMS Sunday, Cadet Sunday, Youth Services & Programs kick-off Sunday)
– Officiate at Weddings, if requested
– Officiate at Funerals, if requested
– Administer the Sacraments if approved by Elders

Worship Ministries Duties and Responsibilities:
– Develop, lead and plan worship services
– Lead and guide the praise teams in organizing and use of resources
– Collaborate with Senior Pastor and praise teams to grow and innovate worship

Reporting Relationship:
– Report to and be accountable to Church Council for direction and goals
– Report to and collaborate with Senior Pastor for cohesive church leadership
– Attend council meetings as required
