    Job Overview

    Thanks for your interest in the Children’s Ministry Director position at GracePoint EF Church.  We are a growing church of about 350 people of all ages.  GracePoint places a high value on the discipleship of children, intergenerational family involvement, and margin for family engagement in community outreach.

    The Children’s Ministry Director will be a fulltime position responsible to oversee the Children’s Ministry as part of the overall strategy of discipleship at GracePoint. This is achieved through partnership with parents and volunteers to administer, develop, and implement discipleship ministries with children birth through 5th grade.

    Oversight of our current children’s ministry programming could  be accomplished in a part-time role.  However, for the right candidate, there is funding for a full-time position that will allow for expansion of current children’s ministry and  broader discipleship involvement based on the training and ministry gifting of the candidate.

    Job Description

    Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate should possess the following:

    • A personal sense of calling from God and a passion for the discipleship of children.
    • A life that evidences a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
    • Bible competency and a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate the Word of God to children.
    • A teachable spirit and evidenced desire to grow in excellence in children’s ministry.
    • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to build relationships with children, parents, volunteers, and the staff of GracePoint EF Church.
    • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
    • Wholehearted alignment with the EFCA Statement of Faith.
    • Committed advocate of the Mission, Vision, Values, and Constitution and By-laws of GracePoint EF Church, and a willingness to become a member of the church.

    Leadership of Children’s Ministries:

    1. Communicate GracePoint’s vision and strategy for the discipleship of children with families, volunteers, and the congregation as a whole.
    2. Recruit, equip, encourage, and schedule volunteers for the various children’s ministry programs and events.
    3. Grow opportunities to build relationships with parents.
    4. Develop a Children’s Ministry leadership team and facilitate regularly scheduled meetings.
    5. Evaluate and select resources needed to enhance the Preschool and Elementary Ministries.
    6. Monitor Nursery needs through regular meetings with Nursery Coordinator.
    7. Develop supplemental mid-week activities and events (such as summer outreach) to meet overall children’s discipleship goals.
    8. Regularly teach as part of the children’s ministry teaching rotation.
    9. Participation in weekly church staff meetings.

    Administration of Children’s Ministries:

    1. Manage attendance records for children’s ministries.
    2. Provide weekly communication to families and volunteers.
    3. Gather resources and supplies for Children’s Ministry volunteers.
    4. Creatively decorate and leverage children’s ministry spaces to advance the discipleship of children.
    5. Facilitate a seamless transition of children from Nursery to Preschool ministry.
    6. Manage Safety & Background Screening for new volunteers.
    7. Establish, administrate, and effectively utilize the children’s ministry budget.
    8. Assist in the development of a Family Ministries Handbook.
    9. Other responsibilities as assigned by Pastoral team.
