Position Overview:
North Cincinnati Community Church is seeking a creative, energetic, and relationally- oriented pastor to lead our church’s student ministry in accomplishing our vision to see people CONNECT deeply to the gospel, GROW more into the likeness of King Jesus & SERVE with the gifts the Lord has given them in the places that He establishes them. This pastor will provide full-time pastoral leadership to the ministry that impacts the 45+ junior and senior high students of our church and their families, and to better reach those in our community who do not know Christ. The ideal candidate will be characterized by a love for Christ, a passion to see students impacted by the gospel and to mature in their faith.
Results: Annual results/outcomes we want this role to accomplish
1. Create effective mechanisms for engaging unchurched students (6th thru 12th grade) and their families in the greater Mason area with the gospel of Jesus Christ (Connect).
2. Create & oversee an effective assimilation pathway/process for connecting new students and their families to the community of God’s people at North Cincinnati Community Church [Connect]
3. Create and lead an effective ministry plan for establishing believing students as mature and equipped followers of Christ, including specific goals and strategies [Grow].
4. Consistently recruit and develop a team of servant-leaders [teachers, volunteers, staff, older students, etc.] to have a kingdom impact in the lives of students and their families [Serve].
Competencies:
1. Ability to teach & communicate God’s Word to students.
2. Ability to recruit and lead a team of volunteers.
3. Ability to relate with both students and adults well.
4. Ability to plan and execute retreats, events, ministry plans, mission’s trips, etc.
5. Ability to pioneer ministry in new places (infiltrate schools, sports, etc.)
Character:
1. Genuine love for Christ, and a proven consistency in walking with Him
2. Authentic passion to make-disciples among students and families
3. Desire to co-labor as a part of a ministry team
Content:
1. Biblical and theological discernment consistent with the beliefs of the PCA
2. Understanding of people, and in particular of the specific challenges confronting parents and teens in mid-western suburban families
Responsibilities:
1. Engage the students relationally by attending sporting events, spending time in homes, getting lunches and visiting schools.
2. Recruit, lead & equip team of adult discipleship leaders by providing on-going coaching, and support via regular meetings, resources, one-on-ones, communications, etc.
3. Lead, plan and execute Wednesday night Youth Ministry (both large group and small groups)
4. Assist Senior Pastor in other ministries of the church where desired and appropriate (preaching, teaching, planning, counseling, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
• Four-year year college degree
• Previous ministry experience (i.e. Young Life, RUF, Campus Outreach, etc.)
Reporting & Remuneration:
• Full-Time Salaried, Exempt Position
• Reports to: Senior Pastor
• Supervises: TBD
• Collaborates: All Ministerial and Program staff Remuneration: commensurate with education & experience
