    Job Description

    Part-Time (25 hours)

    Youth Ministry Director (Part-time) Description Lead, plan, evaluate and administer a comprehensive ministry relevant to today’s young people, considering their spiritual, physical, recreational, social, and psychological development. Direct the programs, including but not limited to age-appropriate Worship Services, Sunday school classes, mission opportunities, discipleship training, and social justice activities consistent with the Senior Pastor’s vision. Develop and maintain a scheduled program of spiritual guidance and education for programs in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Sound Doctrine.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Lead youth to recognize the call of God in their life relating to vocation and enlist them in worship, Bible study, prayer, and other Christian activities.

    2. Conduct weekly services and/or ministry activities.

    3. Develop, promote, and actively participate in teen and young adult programs that provide spiritual growth, fellowship activities and community engagement such as mission opportunities, camps, retreats, and community service projects.

    4. Encourage teens and young adults to participate in other church programs offered and sponsored by the church.

    5. Provide recreational and fellowship activities for teens and young adults.

    6. Enlist and train servant volunteers and paid teens workers. Manage, motivate, instruct, and coordinate the activities of the teens ministry teams. Ensure all team members are trained to lead teens to salvation and to nurture them in their Christian development. Ensure adequate adult sponsors are present for all teens programs and activities.

    7. Train teens and young adults in outreach, discipleship and evangelism. Strategy, Relationship Management and

    Communications, Liturgical:

    1. Manage resources, tools, and equipment used within the teen and young adult ministries.

    2. Evaluate and review the teen and young adult ministry area and all teen programs annually with the staff member to which you report. Ensure programs are effective and reaching teens and their families for Christ.

    3. Preach as needed, particularly for Youth Sundays and teen events.

    4. Conduct and Oversee the Teen New Member’s Orientation on a monthly basis.

    Administrative Duties:

    1. Conduct meetings with Teen Leadership Team and Teens to collaborate in short-term and long-range planning for and evaluation of the various teens ministry areas.

    2. Manage expenditures, submission of receipts for expenses, cash allowances and surplus cash at the end of trips, events and activities to assure budget compliance.

    Staff Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

    1. Responsible and accountable to the staff member designated by the Sr. Pastor.

    2. Assist the Sr. Pastor and staff in evaluating the total church program and its needs.

    3. Assist in hospital and funeral home visitation of teen related members/leaders. Other duties as assigned by staff member to which you report.

    Requirements:

    1. Successfully pass personal background check

    2. Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

    Qualifications:

    1. Have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and have taken the step of believer’s baptism.

    2. Preferred, but not required: at least a Master’s degree in divinity, theology, teen ministry, teen guidance, or other faith related education.

    3. Must have at least three years’ experience in a successful and growing teen ministry position managing more than 100 students.

    4. A passion and heart for the teens and teen ministry.

    5. Relational, personable, fun and energizing.

    6. Proficiency in technology tools and social media in order to connect to young people. Compensation:

    Salary will be determined by level of education and ministry experience.
