    Our church seeks a well-trained, experienced, and biblically qualified pastor-elder to serve as a pastor for preaching and leadership in our eldership team. He must be a visionary leader who commits to expository preaching with down-to-earth applications. He should have a proven history of equipping leaders and discipling church members. This is a full-time position.

    Job Duties:

    • Preaching and TeachingOur church aims to teach our congregations with sound doctrines. The Senior Pastor must be able to preach expository to the Old and New Testament and in multiple genres. He is also responsible for planning the yearly preaching calendar. In doing so, he must carefully coordinate with our other teaching elders, especially in his absence.
    • Weekly Sunday ServiceThe Senior Pastor is the overseer of our weekly Sunday service. He must be involved in but is not limited to the following: music/worship ministry, announcements, and corporate prayers. He and the Worship Pastor must coordinate well, aligning all worship songs to the Sunday message and ensuring the overall worship experience is in order.
    • FamilyOur church believes that all elders and deacons must live above reproach and be able to lead their households well. We aim to promote these attributes by being a living example, teaching, correcting, and encouraging.
    • TrainingThe Senior Pastor and other church elders must work together in mentoring men who demonstrate gifts in preaching and teaching.
    • ShepherdingThe Senior Pastor is expected to attend monthly Elders’ meetings, provide pastoral care and Biblical counseling to members, participate in visitation rotation, and provide encouragement and support to the other ministries.
    • Church StaffThe Senior Pastor will be the primary leader in caring for our church’s paid staff. In this leadership role, he will ensure that all weekly activities are well coordinated and aligned with the church’s vision and mission. He is not responsible for staffing, or Human Resources functions, yet should there be a need, he will endorse such issues to the elders and deacons for resolutions. Qualifications:
    • He must affirm the Converge’s Statement of Faith (see Our beliefs and statement of faith | Converge)
    • He must have the qualifications of an elder described in 1 Timothy and Titus.
    • He must have an MDiv or equivalent, with at least six years of pastoral experience.
    • He must be able to do expository preaching.
    • He must be experienced in leadership (elder) development.
    • He must demonstrate a history of making disciples.
    • He must be relational. Our members are very close to each other, and so we value personal relationships. We are looking for a pastor who enjoys being a part of our church family.
