The Pastor to Children and Families will oversee all ministry to children from Birth through completed 5th Grade. This includes (but is not limited to) Children’s programming on Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening. The Children’s pastor will also oversee special events, outreach, camps, and VBS (or an equivalent). The position also requires that the Pastor to Children & Families function in a shepherding role to the entire church body with specific emphasis upon the families of the children under his oversight.

The position must be filled by an ordained male pastor who meets all the biblical qualifications of 1 Tim. 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. He must devise and implement a strategy to challenge and train parents to disciple their own children and raise them in the discipline and instruction of The Lord. He will work together with the Youth Pastor and Senior Pastor to devise a cohesive strategy for the spiritual development of our children from birth through high school graduation. As an associate pastor of the church, he will be expected to preach and teach in church wide public settings at the discretion of the Senior Pastor.

Kirby Woods Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church. Applicant must become a member of Kirby Woods and affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Job experience in the area of children’s ministry is preferred, as is seminary education. The compensation package will be discussed early in the process after a resume is sent and candidate is initially evaluated.
