Position Summary:

West Ellisville Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate Full-Time Pastor to lead our active congregation in spiritual growth, community engagement, and worship. The ideal candidate will be a Bible-believing Southern Baptist preacher who possesses strong leadership, pastoral, and communication skills. This role requires a deep commitment to fostering a strong sense of community, nurturing spiritual development, and guiding our congregation in accordance with Southern Baptist principles.

Responsibilities:

Preaching and Teaching:

Deliver inspiring, biblically-based sermons that engage, challenge, and educate the congregation, helping them to deepen their faith and understanding of the Scriptures.
Worship Leadership: Lead and participate in vibrant worship services, facilitating a genuine atmosphere of reverence, praise, and spiritual connection.

Pastoral Care:

Provide compassionate and thoughtful pastoral care to church members, including counseling, visiting the sick and homebound, and offering spiritual guidance during life’s challenges.
Discipleship and Christian Education: Develop and oversee discipleship programs, Bible studies, and educational opportunities that empower members to grow in their relationship with God and each other.
Outreach and Community Engagement: Foster a strong presence within the local community by organizing outreach initiatives, events, and partnerships that reflect the church’s mission and values.
Leadership and Administration: Collaborate with church leadership to make strategic decisions, manage church operations, and lead staff and volunteers in achieving the church’s goals.
Evangelism: Encourage and equip the congregation to actively share their faith and invite others to experience the love of Christ.
Spiritual Development: Continuously seek personal growth and renewal through prayer, study, and self-care, setting an example of spiritual vitality for the congregation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible college or seminary (Master’s degree preferred).
Ordained Southern Baptist minister with a demonstrated commitment to Southern Baptist beliefs and principles.
Proven experience in pastoral ministry, with a track record of effectively leading a diverse congregation.
Excellent preaching and teaching skills, with the ability to communicate biblical truths in a relevant and engaging manner.
Strong interpersonal and pastoral care skills, displaying empathy, compassion, and an approachable demeanor.
Leadership qualities and the ability to collaborate effectively with church leadership, staff, and volunteers.
Proficient organizational and administrative skills to manage church operations and programs.
Genuine passion for fostering community engagement and outreach.
Adherence to the Statement of Faith and doctrinal beliefs of West Ellisville Baptist Church.
