    Job Description

CrossPoint Church in Chino, CA is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministries to join our leadership team. CP Youth serves over 60 youth in grades 7-12 from our church and community as we invest in the next generation and seek intergenerational ministry. Primary responsibilities would be providing program leadership and teaching for youth and youth volunteers, in addition to managing program and event details.

The Director of Youth Ministries is a key leader at CrossPoint Church who embraces the church’s mission to gather and equip people to become passionate followers of Jesus. This person will model a mature Christian faith, develop a missional ministry, and lead the Spiritual formation of the youth and young adults in the CrossPoint community.

    • Provide times each week when students can gather for teaching and community; times for developing students as followers of Christ and settings where they are excited to invite their friends.
    • Implement, train, and lead small group opportunities.

    • Model servant leadership and an opportunity for students to serve others through church, community, and short-term service projects.
    • Develop opportunities for students to engage in both local and global missions.

    • Communicate frequently and clearly with parents.
    • Engage parents in supporting, serving, and vision building.
    • Create events/workshops or other experiences that reinforce the value of families and the role of parents as the key people in the spiritual formation of their children.

    • Equip students for age appropriate outreach.
    • Equip students to engage compassionately and effectively with those who hold a different faith or worldview.
    • Provide opportunities for students to share their faith.

    • Equip both student and adult leaders to lead and develop students and ministries.
    • Recognize and meet the need for intentional discipleship to build a sustainable student ministry.
    • Develop and lead both an adult leadership team and a student leadership team.

The ideal candidate will check many of these boxes:                                                                                                                              *  A vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
    *  Rooted in scripture and committed to Christian disciplines.
    *  Demonstrates the Biblical qualities of integrity, humility, responsibility, teachability, and servanthood.
    *  Exhibits a pattern of healthy personal and professional relationships.
    *  Believes, accepts, and supports CrossPoint’s vision, mission, values and core beliefs.
    *  Believes, accepts and supports Reformed theology.
    *  Works hard and does well in a team environment.
    *  Specific and demonstrable experience in growing student ministries in both depth and size is preferred.                                          *  Two years of experience as the lead person for a youth ministry of 30 or more students is favorable but not required.
    *  Bachelor’s Degree is required, theological training is a huge plus.

The Director of Youth Ministries is a creative, Jesus-loving, builder of authentic relationships. Teaching is a strength, knowing your students is a privilege, and effective communication is a habit. Games that make you muddy are fun. Always.

If this is you, organization and innovation go hand-in-hand. And if it’s not a strength, you know it and you’ve adapted. God’s Word is absolutely, unstoppably, and intentionally the foundation of your faith. You plan and prepare with intention and purpose. You’re a trust-builder.

If you believe God might be leading you to explore this opportunity, we invite you to initiate the conversation with us by sharing the following:

    • A letter of introduction
    • Your resume
    • A one-page statement of faith

All information will be treated with discretion and confidentiality.
