Job Description
We are looking for a pastor who possesses the experience, gifts, and motivation to lead our congregation into the next chapter of our story. Ideally, we are looking for someone who meets the following requirements:
Qualifications
• Is convinced of the authority of Scripture, evangelical in belief and practice and reformed in theology
• Possesses a mature, personal, and joyful relationship with God through Jesus Christ
• Embraces our Vision, Mission, and Core Values and is drawn to unique and new opportunities to implement them
• Invests in people by caring for their souls, growing their faith, and working to help them use their gifts for ministry
• Likes brainstorming about a variety of subjects and appreciates thinking through processes for better efficiency
• Subscribes to Essential Tenets of the ECO
Education
• Master of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited theological seminary
• Ordained, or willing to be ordained, in ECO.
Experience
• 5+ years as associate or lead pastor, or comparable leadership, preferred
Pastor Responsibilities
• Provides engaging Biblically-grounded sermons that inform, inspire and challenge
• Provides leadership development with officers and staff that includes training in the Bible, Christian Doctrine as well as leadership skills to carry out the vision, mission, and core values of the church.
• Partners with an Associate Pastor, Youth Minister, part time Office Administrator, the Session, and numerous volunteers to accomplish the mission and ministry of the church
• Equips the body for shepherding and ministry
• Cultivates local and global mission connections
• Is involved in the Presbytery of the West (ECO)
Compensation and Housing
• Salary Negotiable
• Manse available
