    Job Overview

    Looking for a Youth Pastor/Camp Director. Will work with students throughout the year to teach them the truth of God’s Word and during the summer will run our camp which is called Victory Bible Camp in Carthage, AR.

    Job Description

    “The purpose of Marrable Hill Chapel is to glorify God by making and training disciples of Jesus Christ motivated by love.”   There are five key words that are involved with this statement — evangelism, discipleship, worship, ministry, and fellowship.

    Type of Staff:  Leadership Staff.

    MHC Job Objective – To plan, develop, implement, and evaluate various activities that will help teenagers (Grades 7 – 12) and adult teen leaders to achieve the purpose of Marrable Hill Chapel and to assist in other areas of the church’s ministry, such as Director of Victory Bible Camp, preaching on occasions, assisting with baptisms, and other ministries as deemed necessary by the Elders.

    Specific Responsibilities:


    • Plan, organize, and lead activities that are designed to reach out to unchurched teens and their parents
    • Make and maintain positive relationships with schools including students and school leaders
    • Make arrangements for baptism of all teens making salvation decisions and have them speak with the pastor if their intent is to become a member of Marrable Hill.
    • Plan, organize, and lead mission efforts for our “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost part of the world”
    • Build Christ-like relationships with unchurched teens and their families and encourage others to do the same.


    • Plan and teach lessons on Wednesdays, Sundays, and other occasions that will encourage teens to grow in their commitment to Christ
    • Enlist, train, and guide adults and teens who will serve as teen leaders.
    • Encourage students to develop a daily personal plan for Bible study and prayer
    • Develop, organize, and supervise small groups that will help teens grow in their relationship to the Lord and one another
    • Involve teens and leaders in “follow up” on all salvation decisions made
    • Spend one-on-one time with those who need encouragement or discipline
    • Build Christ-like relationships with churched teens and their families and encourage others to do the same.


    • See to it that all ministry is done for the Glory of God
    • Involve teens and adult teen leaders in a teen-oriented biblically based service on Wednesday nights
    • Encourage participation of teens and adult teen leaders in MHC regular worship services and other worship services planned by the Youth Ministry or Church


    • Plan, organize, and implement activities that will provide the teens opportunities to serve others
    • Seek to help teens learn and use their God-given spiritual gifts and passion for ministry
    • Take an active role in Victory Bible Camp (help plan, organize, & implement activities of the camp)

    Victory Bible Camp Director Overall Duties

    • Oversee all activities in preparation for and during the camp weeks and retreats.
    • Enlist and train workers and counselors for each camp and retreat as well as work week.
    • Work with the Facilities Director during camp weeks to keep all facilities functional.
    • Meet with the Victory Bible Camp Board on a monthly basis.
    • Publicize and Promote Camp Activities with the intent of encouraging the involvement of people at MHC and other churches.


    • Communicate with the pastor, church body, church leaders, and families of teens about the activities of the youth ministry
    • Plan, organize, and implement activities that will develop a sense of community among the teens and between the youth group and other age groups in the church.
    • Make certain that all teen activities are conducted in a safe manner and in a manner that will honor the Lord

    Personal Qualifications:

    • A life that demonstrates a growing commitment and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
    • Has a God-given passion for teens and their families.
    • Agrees with the Purpose Statement and beliefs of the church and will support the constitution of Marrable Hill Chapel.
    • Ability to manage students in order to provide a safe environment.
    • High School degree required. Higher education preferred.
    • Previous experience of working with ministry to and teaching teens.
    • Must be current member of Marrable Hill Chapel or willing to become a member of MHC
    • Physically able to participate in teen activities
    • Willing to be CPR certified
    • Proficient in computer programs such as Word and Excel or willing to learn.

    Hours:  The hours of the MHC Youth Pastor will be such as are necessary to carry on the duties listed above.   The MHC Youth Pastor position calls for an average of 40 hours per week.  There may be times that the ministry needs more than 40 hours in a week.  When needed, the Youth Pastor should be willing to volunteer extra time just as other members of our church volunteer their time in ministry.


    • Day by Day accountability to the MHC Senior Pastor for Youth Ministry
    • Overall accountability to the Elders for Youth Ministry
    • Financial reporting to the Elders for Youth Ministry
    • This position is also accountable to the Chairman of Victory Bible Camp Board for accountability related to camp ministries and to the VBC Camp Board for overall accountability for camp ministries.
