Job Description
Summary: The individual hired would primarily lead, disciple, and shepherd our 7th to 12th grade students with the gospel and ministry skills so they will know and follow Jesus in their lives. They will partner with our parents to equip and inspire them to disciple their students. The secondary staff responsibility will be to gather, lead and connect single and married adults in the ages 22-35.
Full-time position – Salary and benefits provided.
• Seminary degree or ordination in the P.C.A is not required. If an individual desires to seek a seminary degree or ordination, we would strive to help them.
• Experience in student ministry is required.
Character Qualities:
1. A man who knows his sin and what it means to repent of it, who knows his Savior and what it means to walk with him and hope in his grace. A consistent walk with God using the means of grace: Bible Study, Meditation, Journaling, etc. with a dependence on God through prayer being a high priority.
2. Gospel-driven, Christ-centered, and Reformed in their Biblical application and Christian walk. Must be in agreement with Evangelical Reformed Theology.
3. Able to work on a team and demonstrate emotional health in how he relates to others.
4. A deep love and burden for students and their families to know the love of Christ.
5. A sensitivity to the developmental needs of students as well as an awareness of parenting concerns and needs.
6. An ability to gather, recruit, and invite students and Young Families to CCC.
Ministry Convictions and Abilities:
1. The Student Ministry of CCC (like all the other ministries) must have a missionally-oriented outward face that involves the building and spreading of the kingdom of God in the community which the Lord Jesus has placed us.
2. CCC desires a Student and Young Family ministry of redemption that seeks to avoid the dangers of moralism, while spurring others to a life of godliness and love for Jesus.
3. The Student Ministry of CCC is not interested in simply managing and entertaining our Youth but desire to see them nurtured toward full maturity in Christ.
4. The Director must be gifted in teaching God’s Word with knowledge and passion, while communicating in a way that students understand the truth in today’s culture.
5. The Director must possess the leadership qualities to recruit, equip and encourage a team of volunteers for this ministry.
Areas of Responsibility:
1. To recruit, equip, direct and encourage a Student Ministry Team of adults committed to praying for, evangelizing, and discipling the students at CCC.
2. To develop relationships with local schools and other student ministries.
3. To develop and maintain an active personal ministry of prayer, evangelism and discipleship among the high school and junior high students at CCC.
4. To create and provide meaningful retreats and mission/service endeavors which provide for CCC students to experience Christ and their need for him.
5. To provide leadership and administrative support for ministry and service opportunities for students and their families.
6. To provide spiritual and social gatherings for Young Adults who attend CCC.
Specific Duties
1. Plan and lead all Sunday morning activities involving Students.
2. Plan and lead one weeknight gathering involving Students. (Currently we meet on Wednesday evenings)
3. Recruit, train, and lead volunteers who desire to minister to Students.
4. Plan summer events to provide growth and connection for students and young families.
5. Attend a weekly CCC staff meeting.
6. Communicate regularly to CCC parents of activities of Student Ministry.
7. Maintain student budget in all its aspects: ministry, retreats, mission funds, etc.
8. Consistently pray for and share the gospel with unbelievers.
9. To pray regularly for every student by name.
10. To plan events that connect single and married couples aged 22-35.
11. To lead a team of CCC members committed to gathering and growing single and young married couples.
Preparation for future ministry
Depending on the needs of the Director, our church will assist your ministry growth by providing opportunities for wider areas of ministry such as preaching, teaching, etc. If the Director desires to be ordained in the P.C.A., then we will ensure that you have the oversight and opportunities to meet all your ordination requirements.
