At Parkway our Children’s Ministry exists to help children and their family Love Jesus Well. Our Children’s ministry partners with parents and collaborates with our ministries to empower families to become and make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Embrace
Refine the Message
Design a messaging strategy that communicates strategic truths to children:
⇒ Provide structure and consistency in ministry;
⇒ Produce strategic experiences to be relevant and engaging for children;
⇒ Design and promote a scope and cycle that prioritizes core messages;
⇒ Develop and improve a diverse team to communicate and lead experiences;
⇒ Experience with or willingness to learn how to support children with special needs;
⇒ Commitment to considering and supporting all needs of children in the ministry.

Impact
Align Leaders
Align leaders to work together around a common strategy, values, and language:
⇒ Champion vision and values of children’s ministry throughout church;
⇒ Facilitate effective meetings to collaborate with key leaders;
⇒ Manage budget and resources needed to make children’s ministry successful.

Elevate Community
At Parkway, we believe disciples are best made one on one or in small groups. Recruit and develop volunteers to  lead children in weekly small groups:
⇒ Implement a system to recruit, train and retain group leaders and volunteers;
⇒ Build training program/framework for volunteers and small group leaders;
⇒ Ensure consistent training in place and regularly evaluate effectiveness;
⇒ Manage group structure to connect children relationally with peers and leaders;
⇒ Leverage digital strategies to enhance learning and relationships;
⇒ Works with the church staff and parents to ensure safety and security measures are in place and regularly evaluated

Empower
Influence Service
Influence kids to love and serve each other:
⇒ Create an age-appropriate plan to engage children in ministry and service opportunities;
⇒ Collaborate with others and delegate to provide focus for the minister while creating additional opportunities for others to serve;
⇒ Train adult leaders to co-lead with teenagers if needed;
⇒ Establish seasonal initiatives for families to do service projects together.

Engage Every Parent
Engage every parent and guardian to partner with ministry:
⇒ Design strategic opportunities to help every parent stay connected;
⇒ Provide resources and experiences that help parents win with their own children;                                               ⇒ Leverage digital strategies to keep parents inspired and informed.
