    Job Description

    First Christian Reformed Church in Barrie, Ontario seeks a Director of Worship and Children’s Ministry. Our ideal candidate will enrich the worship at First CRC Barrie through the planning and facilitation of a worship and music ministry. Further, as the Coordinator of Children’s Ministries, the candidate will help promote the ministries of the church by planning and implementing children’s ministries.

    Qualifications:

    • Gives evidence of a deep love for Christ and his people and encourages others to express the same.

    • Ability to establish goals, evaluate, review, and monitor ministries to encourage our members to love, learn, seek, and serve.

    • Possess excellent relational skills for working with fellow staff members and volunteer leaders.

    • Ability to coordinate finances.

    • Experience in and/or passion for education and/or youth ministry.

    • Use a broad range of participants in music ministry, especially youth.

    • Coordinate and lead choir, praise teams and musicians to enhance the worship of the congregation.

    Special Requirements:

    • Serve as the head musician for worship services (preference given to those who can play or will learn to play organ)

    • Exercise leadership in seeking a blended style of music that offers a balance between a rich Reformed heritage and contemporary songs that are edifying and praiseworthy.

    • Encourage individuals to find opportunities to use their gifts in meaningful ways

    • Create new initiatives to engage the children of the congregation in discipleship.

    • Develop, enhance, and encourage a highly relational ministry by building positive long-term relationships with the children and parents within our congregation.

    This position is full time, 35-40 hours a week.  It will include evening and weekend hours.  Pay commensurate with candidate’s qualifications and experience.
