    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    The Children’s Sunday Morning Director is responsible for inspiring, developing, organizing and executing Sunday morning programs and activities related to the formation of children from Birth through 6th Grade.

    This position reports to the Senior Pastor.

    This position is an up to 25 hr/wk, non-exempt position.

    Pay will range from $25-$30/hour

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    ● Develop and implement a clear and creative vision for Children’s Ministry (CM) in collaboration with pastors and Session.
    ● Oversee selection and implementation of curricula, in consultation with the pastors.
    ● Recruit, train and mentor interns.
    ● Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers for CM and ensure that all programs and activities are adequately staffed.
    ● Regularly visit classrooms to ensure program quality and to provide teacher support..
    ● Use child development strategies to best meet the needs of children in curriculum selection, behavior management, classroom grouping, etc.
    ● Communicate and advocate for the needs of CM to other staff and church leaders.
    ● Ensure classrooms have necessary supplies, materials and equipment.
    ● Coordinate sanitation and safety protocols for CM and coordinate with the church safety and security team.
    ● Communicate with Facilities and Maintenance Commission, as well as custodial staff, to ensure that children’s facilities are clean, safe and in good repair.
    ● Submit annual fiscal year budget requests to the Budget Committee in a timely manner and provide financial oversight of expenditures during the fiscal year.
    ● Schedule and lead regular Children’s Ministry Team meetings.
    ● Attend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings.
    ● Facilitate communication among all programs that intersect with CM.
    ● Participate in the life and worship of the congregation.
    ● Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Pastor/Head of Staff that contribute to the administration and life of the church.

    REQUIREMENTS
    ● Demonstrates passion for ministry to children and families..
    ● Evidences personal mature faith and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as demonstrated in action, attitude, and behavior.
    ● Embraces mission, vision and core commitments of Central Presbyterian Church.
    ● Proficient in both verbal and written communication
    ● Demonstrates expertise in program administration including use of sound judgment and protection of confidentiality.
    ● Demonstrates reliability, trustworthiness and initiative.
    ● Is innovative, creative, and collaborative.
    ● Is physically capable of sustained activity.
    ● Has up-to-date knowledge of health and safety best practices for children.
    ● Knowledge and experience in Biblical interpretation, child development (including faith development) and religious educational theory and practice.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
    Desired
    ● Bachelor’s Degree in child development, Christian education or related field
    ● Five (5 ) years’ experience leading children and/or family ministries

    Required
    ● Associate’s Degree in child development, Christian education or related field
    ● Clear Fingerprint Background Check
    ● Hold CPR Certification for Infants, Children and Adults
