    Job Description

    Position Summary:

    The East End Fellowship Director of Family Ministries will have strategic and visionary responsibility for the oversight, design, and implementation of faith-based discipleship programming for neighborhood and congregational youth and children. This role includes implementing ministry and outreach for youth of all ages and overseeing a team of teachers and volunteers. The Director of Family Ministries will be the primary spiritual leader for youth and children who participate in East End Fellowship programming, serving alongside EEF elders and staff, and reporting directly to the Co-Lead Pastor.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Youth Ministry Program Oversight

    • Work with Co-Lead Pastor to develop and implement weekly discipleship programming for youth in the East End
    • Work with Church Administrator to secure weekday youth group logistics (e.g. venue reservations, food orders, youth registrations/rosters, materials, etc.)
    • Work with Church Administrator to recruit, train, and oversee a team of volunteers to support youth programming (e.g. Sunday Large Gathering, Weekly House Church, Weekday youth group programming
    • Design and implement training workshop for Youth Ministry volunteers that addresses Christian Community Development (CCD) Principles, best practices regarding restorative discipline, trauma-informed care, and cross-cultural sensitivity
    • Work with Co-Lead Pastor to plan annual Youth Retreat
    • Work with Co-Lead Pastor to develop and monitor Youth Ministry calendar, goals, and evaluation metrics
    • Work with Co-Lead Pastor to draft and maintain Youth Ministry budget and submit Youth Ministry receipts to Church Administrator

    Children’s Ministry Program Oversight

    • Work with Co-Lead Pastor to oversee Children’s Ministry programming at East End Fellowship
    • Work with Church Administrator to recruit, train, and oversee a team of teachers and volunteers to assist with executing Children’s Ministry programming (e.g. Sunday Large Gathering, Weekly House Church, Quarterly Midsize Gathering, annual Church Retreat, RISC Assemblies)
    • Supervise Children’s Ministry teachers and volunteers
    • Oversee implementation of Sunday Children’s Ministry curriculum
    • Work with Church Administrator to provide Children’s Ministry class supplies (e.g. snacks, materials, sign-in sheets, rosters, child registrations, etc.)
    • Work with Co-Lead Pastor to develop and monitor Children’s Ministry calendar, goals, and evaluation metrics
    • Liaise with Safety Team to maintain safety protocols
    • Work with Co-Lead Pastor to draft and maintain Children’s Ministries budget and submit Children’s Ministry receipts to Church Administrator

    Relationship Building

    • Meet weekly with Co-Lead Pastor
    • Attend weekly EEF staff meetings
    • Actively participate in an EEF House Church
    • Regularly attend EEF Large Gatherings
    • Pray with Children’s Ministry teachers and volunteers prior to Sunday Large Gathering
    • Cultivate partnerships with local youth-based organizations to foster rapport and collaboration, connect with additional neighborhood youth, advance EEF Youth and Children’s Ministries efforts, and develop MOUs when appropriate (e.g. Rise, Peter Paul, Anna Julia Cooper School, Servant Partners, Boys and Girls Club, RRHA, RPS, etc.)
    • Build relationships with local church leaders who serve children and/or youth
    • Actively pursue rhythms of rest/sabbath

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • An authentic and living relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
    • Agreement with the doctrinal statements of East End Fellowship via the Evangelical Covenant Church (https://covchurch.org/who-we-are/beliefs/).
    • Experience in cross-cultural situations and a concern and sensitivity for all areas of diversity, including race, gender, sexual orientation, and socio-economic diversity.
    • Knowledge and experience with, or willingness to learn, the Christian Community Development model.
    • Strong communication skills and management competency.

    The Director of Family Ministries position is a competitive salaried, part-time position.
