SUMMARY

Cashie Baptist Church (Windsor, NC) is seeking a Minister of Youth & Children to oversee the Youth (6th – 12th Grades) and Children’s (4 yrs – 5th Grade) Ministries of Cashie Baptist Church.

He will work with the lead pastor to develop and implement a comprehensive plan to disciple children and youth, and equip families to disciple children and youth, in line with the church’s mission, vision, and strategy.

Reports to: Lead Pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Baptized follower of Jesus Christ

·         Doctrinally aligned with Cashie Baptist Church (see cashiebaptist.org/about-us/our-beliefs)

·         Knowledge of the Bible that is suitable for faithfully teaching youth and children

·         Completed or currently pursuing associate or bachelor’s degree (preferably with ministry focus)

·         Relationally intelligent and intentional

·         Organized and attentive to detail (able to plan ahead)

·         Financially responsible and trustworthy

·         Become a covenant member of Cashie Baptist Church within 6 months of employment

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

·         Maintain a life of personal integrity, holiness, and Christian character.

·         Read and participate in a discipleship study with the lead pastor.

·         Work with the lead pastor to establish a discipleship plan for children and youth.

·         Build and maintain relationships with each student and his/her family for the sake of evangelism and discipleship. (Including outside of official church events)

·         Counsel students and families when appropriate and necessary.

·         Equip families with resources and tools to disciple their students at home.

·         Hold flexible office hours, with the expectation that ministry will occur outside those hours.

·         Prepare an annual budget for the Youth & Children’s Ministries to be presented to the diaconate for their approval. Final approval will come from the church.

·         Plan, organize, teach, and participate in weekly youth and children’s ministry activities (Children’s Church, Sunday School, Sunday evening activities, etc.)

·         Plan, organize, and participate in special events for Youth and Children’s Ministries. (Outreach events, Mission Trips, Summer Camp, Ski Trips, etc.)

·         Recruit and equip volunteers for Youth & Children’s Ministries (working with Children’s & Youth Committees)

·         Establish and maintain relationships with local schools.

·         Work alongside and under the direction of the lead pastor to fulfill pastoral duties, such as visitation, preaching, teaching, etc.

·         Perform other duties as assigned by the lead pastor.
