MINISTRY MISSION STATEMENT: Provide a safe and engaging environment so that youth can grow in relationship with Jesus and one another.

PURPOSE: Provide vision and leadership for overall youth ministry development; and coordination, implementation, and direction to staff and volunteers who are committed to guiding youth in their faith from 6th grade through 12th grade.

REPORTS TO: Hosanna!’ is Head of Staff, the Senior Pastor

QUALIFICATIONS:
● Strong Christian faith and a commitment to sharing the Gospel.
● An understanding and appreciation of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ Statement of Faith.
● Committed to the Vision, Values, and Beliefs of Hosanna! Lutheran Church.
● Passion for developing a student’s faith and personal journey with Jesus.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Facilitate creative, dynamic, and engaging discussions with students.
● Self-motivated; ability to establish professional and ministry goals.
● Basic technology and social media skills.
● Ability to delegate.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead and oversee middle school and high school ministries which include:
a. Christian youth education,
b. Youth group meetings,
c. Confirmation programming,
d. Retreats/mission trips,
e. Fellowship activities.
2. Create and implement an annual curriculum for students to grow in Jesus.
3. Present Christian teachings from an LCMC perspective.
4. Communicate with the congregation and community about Youth Ministry’s ongoing programs and activities.
5. Recruit, train and encourage volunteer adult and youth ministry leaders to help implement ministry programs and events.
6. Effectively communicate with parents to ensure they are engaged with Youth activities and teachings.
7. Participate in staff meetings, retreats, and other leadership activities as requested.
8. Beaccountable for managing the Youth Ministry budget.
9. Continue to develop ministry skills and strengthen personal faith through continuing education.
10. Doing what it takes to accomplish God’s plan.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE: Hosanna! is blessed to be able to offer an attractive compensation package which is dependent upon experience and includes paid annual vacation.

WEEKLY HOURS&EXPECTATIONS: 40 hours per week in-person, exempt status, position. Sunday worship attendance is expected when school is in session. Many evenings and weekends as required to support programming.
