Job Description
Legacy Church is seeking a dedicated, dynamic Campus Pastor to shepherd and grow our community. Reporting directly to the Senior Pastor, the Campus Pastor will have a passion for building relationships and caring for the church, both spiritually and practically. Special focus will be given to connecting with the families of our church preschool and military families in our community. Key Responsibilities:
Preaching and Teaching
- Deliver weekly sermons that are grounded in biblical truth and applicable to everyday life.
- Work with the Senior Pastor and other staff members to plan and execute a cohesive vision for worship and teaching series.
Congregational Care
- Provide pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance to members of the congregation.
- Conduct weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other sacraments as needed.
Preschool and Family Ministry
- Build and maintain relationships with the families in our church preschool.
- Collaborate with Youth and Children’s ministry staff to develop family-centered programs that help deepen faith and community engagement.
Outreach and Community Engagement
- Plan and oversee outreach programs, with a special focus on military families.
- Coordinate with community organizations and other churches to extend the church’s mission and impact.
Vision Alignment and Implementation
- Demonstrate steadfast commitment to the Senior Pastor’s vision, ensuring a unified direction for our congregation.
- Take initiative to develop and execute innovative strategies that bring the Senior Pastor’s vision to life, all while considering the unique nuances of the campus community and aligning with the broader goals of Legacy Church.
Administration
- Manage campus operations, including volunteer coordination, budget planning, and facility maintenance.
- Participate in staff meetings, leadership training, and other organizational events.
- Support the Tierrasanta campus staff through effective management and encouragement.
Other Duties
- Perform other pastoral functions as directed by the Senior Pastor or as required.
Qualifications:
- A theological degree from an accredited seminary (preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of pastoral experience.
- Strong preaching and teaching skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- A heart for outreach and community involvement.
