    Job Description

    Purpose
    To coordinate and lead the elements of worship that involve music in a theologically reformed and traditional manner consistent with Scripture and the priorities, principles, and distinctives of Christ Church, Presbyterian.

    Responsibilities
    ● Collaborate with the pastoral staff to select congregational hymns for Sunday morning/evening worship and proof read the text for musical components of Sunday bulletins.
    ● Select and lead Introit and Anthem for each Sunday morning worship.
    ● Lead weekly choir rehearsals on Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 pm in preparation for Sunday worship.
    ● Contract and coordinate special instrument ensembles (ie. brass, strings, bells and flute)
    ● Recruit choir members
    ● Plan, request, and manage the music ministry budget as approved by the Diaconate and Session.
    ● Plan, rehearse and direct special service musical program (ie. Resurrection Festival/Easter and Christmas Evensong)
    ● Review for approval the musical program for weddings, funerals and other musical events.
    ● Maintain license records for music used by the church.
    ● Available to attend staff meetings (once per week)
    ● Concur with the Westminster Confession of Faith and the elements within the Book of Church Order (BCO) 12-5e
    ● Be a member of Christ Church, Presbyterian that attends Sunday Morning and Evening Worship Services while participating in the life and ministry of the church.
    ● Member of the worship committee. Partner with the Elder responsible for Worship for advice, counsel and guidance.
    Reports to the Session with Senior Pastor oversight.
    ● **If there is interest in leading the Augusta Youth Chorale, additional remuneration is available.

    Qualifications
    ● An ardent follower of Jesus Christ whose life and verbal testimony clearly demonstrate a vibrant, genuine relationship with Christ and is displayed through a ministry that glorifies God, edifies the Body of Christ and lifts high the message of salvation through faith alone in Christ alone.
    ● A love for worship personified with a particular joy and enthusiasm
    ● A genuine zeal to understand the people to whom and for whom he/she is helping to lead in worship
    ● Five years of experience in choral music is preferred.
    ● Excellent oral and written communication skills
    ● Attested and reliable references.

    Compensation & Benefits
    ● Salary will be commensurate with experience.
    ● Paid Time Off is provided for two Sunday worship services per Year (including related rehearsal). For unplanned absences, key stakeholders (ie. Elder responsible for Worship, Organist, etc) should be notified.
    ● For this position, retirement and healthcare benefits are not offered.
