Job Description
Olympic View Baptist Church (OVBC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Pastor.
OVBC is affiliated with the North American Baptist (NAB) Conference.
Position:
This is a full-time position. A compensation package will be negotiated dependent upon experience,
training, education, church resources and the leading of God.

4. Completion of the Self-Disclosure Form available on OVBC website, as noted above

Minimum qualifications:
• Accepted Jesus Christ as personal Savior
• Called to Pastoral Ministry
• Ordained or be qualified for ordination by NAB
• Meet the qualifications of an Elder as described in the OVBC Constitution (available on OVBC
website noted above)
• A Bible Degree from an accredited institution (prefer Master of Divinity or equivalent)
• Experience as lead/senior pastor in a church that has grown through the 200 plus attendance level
is preferred, or significant responsibilities as a staff member of a larger church
Supplemental questions:
1. What is your salvation story and how were you called to the pastoral ministry?
2. What led you to your current church and what is God doing there?
3. Why are you applying for this position? Do any of your key leaders know you are making yourself
available for the Lord’s leading to another church? Will your references support your answers?
How has the Lord made His will clear to you as you go through this process?
4. How would you describe your management and leadership styles?
5. What issues, if any, do you have related to the OVBC Mission, Vision, and Beliefs that would prevent you from supporting them without reservation?
6. What concerns do you have, if any, regarding your ability to perform the essential functions described in the job description?
7. What experience do you have in refreshing the mission and vision of a church and how successful was the effort?
8. Share a concrete, successful method from your current or a previous ministry that greatly improved retention and assimilation of new attenders and improved relational belonging of “fringe” members.
9. If you made a serious error while leading the church, what would you do to correct it?
10. What is your understanding of the “missional” church? What experience have you had in a
missional context?
11. What successful strategies or approaches have you used to nurture a vibrant small group ministry?
12. Before we request a criminal background check and a credit report on you, is there any information we should know?
