Seeking a Director of Youth

First Baptist Church of Lancaster is seeking to hire an enthusiastic, and energetic baptized believer in Jesus Christ to disciple youth. The church presently has a small but active youth group with many children to be promoted into the program soon.  This is a salaried part-time position that is ideal for a college student or someone seeking bi-vocational work in the ministry.

Responsibilities:

• Planning, coordinating, and leading all aspects of our youth program (grades 6-12)
• Wednesday night bible study and Sunday morning Sunday School and worship service
• An average of 10 hours a week and 1full week in the summer
• Plan and lead at least one annual youth trip (usually 1 week in summer)
• Attend monthly staff meetings
• Manage the Youth budget under direction of the Youth Committee.

Expectations:

• A passion to serve youth as a mission of love
• Able to guide teenagers in their spiritual growth and faith
• Enthusiasm for working with youth
• An understanding of teenagers’ developmental needs
• A baptized believer in Jesus Christ

Qualifications we are seeking:

• Experience in working with youth
• An energetic and charismatic personality that inspires the youth
• Exhibit an understanding of youth ministry models
• An understanding of the Baptist Faith & Message https://bfm.sbc.net/

Ideal Candidate:

• Lives within 45 minutes of the church
• College educated
• Would be willing to join the church
