Position Overview:
The Minister of Students and Young Adults will lead, develop, and grow the students and young adults programs at Kingsway. This individual will be responsible for creating an engaging, contemporary, and biblically sound environment that fosters spiritual growth and community among our students and young adults. The position will report to the Pastor.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development: Design and implement age-appropriate programs, events, and activities that align with the church’s mission and values, such as students camps, young adult retreats, and periodic gatherings.
Teaching: Prepare and deliver biblically based lessons that are relevant and engaging for students.
Discipleship: Develop and oversee discipleship initiatives, small groups, and mentoring relationships to encourage spiritual growth.
Community Building: Foster a welcoming community for students and young adults, encouraging their participation in church life.
Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers to assist in the delivery of students and young adults programs.
Family Engagement: Collaborate with parents and families to support the spiritual development of their students and to encourage family involvement in church activities.
Outreach and Evangelism: Create outreach initiatives to engage the local community and attract students and young adults to the church.
Administrative Duties: Manage the budget, plan events, and ensure all activities comply with church policies and safety guidelines. Serve as Chair of the Youth Council and Young Adults Council.
Reporting: Provide periodic updates on ministry activities, challenges, and successes.
Qualifications:
Passion for Students and Young Adults: This role requires a passion for ministry, a heart for young people and the ability to connect with families to support the overall mission and vision of our church.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. ministry, theology etc.) preferred; or equivalent experience in students and young adults ministry, including program development and leadership.
Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to relate to students and young adults and proficient in organizing events and activities.
Spiritual Maturity: A deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through a vibrant spiritual life and adherence to biblical principles.
Vision and Creativity: Ability to innovate and adapt programs to meet the changing needs of students and young adults.
Team Player: Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively with church staff, volunteers and families.
