POSITION FOCUS
Using his/her strengths, gifts and talents, this leader will develop and implement creative outreach strategies to connect with families in the community outside our church walls, bring them into our congregation, and connect them to FPC students and families. We envision a leader who will be a positive influence on students and families through his/her life witness and testimony; one who will go where students and families do life and one who has a heart for discipling, encouraging, and walking alongside our covenant partners of all ages. The Next Gen leader at FPC is expected to have a regular and visible presence and participation in Sunday morning worship services. The duties of this individual may vary, but will generally include the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. OUTREACH: Engaging with the local community and schools to reach unchurched or disconnected students. Creating opportunities for outreach and service that resonate with students, children, and families.
2. SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT: Leading Bible studies, small groups and worship services tailored to younger generations. Teaching and discipling them in their faith journey.
3. MENTORSHIP: Building relationships with students, young adults and families and providing guidance, support, and encouragement as they navigate life and faith.
4. VOLUNTEER COORDINATION: Recruiting, training and managing volunteers who work with students and young adults. Ensuring they are equipped and supported in their roles.
5. COLLABORATION: Working with other church leaders to integrate Next Gen ministry into the broader FPC church vision and mission. Ensuring alignment with the church’s ECO goals and values.
6. ADMINISTRATION: Managing budgets, communication and logistics related to Next Gen programs. This includes coordinating schedules, maintaining records and ensuring compliance with state, local, and FPC Branson child protection policies and procedures.
7. PARENT PARTNERSHIP: Communicating with and supporting parents in their role as primary spiritual influencers. Providing resources and opportunities for family discipleship.
QUALIFICATIONS
• The applicant needs to affirm and agree with the Essential Tenets of ECO and have a personal commitment and testimony of faith in Jesus Christ that conforms to the Essential Tenets of ECO.
• Experience working with students and families in a church or community outreach setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and social media platforms
• Pass a background check and be vetted on social media platform
