Overview : · The mission of Berlin First Baptist Church is to glorify God as we see sinners like us transformed into Christ like maturity. The pastor of Student ministries will contribute to this mission through, reaching students and their parents with the Gospel of Christ, teaching them the Word of God and equipping them for service in God’s kingdom. Reports to: Lead Pastor

Primary Responsibilities :   · Develop and oversee a student ministry that aims to see students transformed into Christ-like maturity by: o Strategically and creatively engaging students in order to REACH them with the Gospel of Christ o Building strong discipleship relationships with students in order to TEACH them through the Word and example to grow in Christ-likeness o Equipping students to be involved in the work of the ministry alongside other believers. · Develop specific goals related to the student ministry and implement a plan of action to accomplish them · Develop and implement a strategy to recruit and train other leaders to serve in the student ministry · Work alongside the Pastoral staff in shepherding the flock with a focus on students and their parents · Organize events, student missions trips, camps, etc. · Lead Student Sunday School and other weekly student meetings · Plan and execute an annual calendar for youth · Implement a Student Ministry that puts a priority on discipleship relationships

Secondary Responsibilities: · Participate during Sunday morning worship service through coordination with the Worship Pastor/Leader (prayer, announcements, scripture readings, etc.). o Preaching opportunities will be made available if so desired

Minimum Qualification: · Personal Character/Ability o A born-again believer in Jesus Christ who’s life reflects their faith in Christ. o Meets the qualifications for pastors as described in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 o Demonstrates the ability to lead others o Demonstrates ability for teamwork o Demonstrates an understanding and sensitivity of different life stages o Models a lifestyle of evangelism and discipleship · Education/Training o   Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Bible/Christian Ministry o Willingness to Participate in abuse prevention training (and undergo a criminal background check) · Prior Experience o Teaching/Preaching the Scriptures in a church setting o Participation as a student ministry leader/worker
