    Primary Job Responsibilities include: Oversight of Bethel Kids and Student Ministry; Ministry of the Word (preaching 6-10x/yr and teaching participation in our adult Discipleship Curriculum); Pastoral counseling; Oversight of local outreach; Participation in customary pastoral responsibilities.

    • Gospel-saturated, evidently authentic, and whole-hearted disciple of Jesus Christ
    • Devoted to prayer and the ministry of the Word
    • Full support of calling to and life in ministry from wife and family
    • Deep resonance with Bethel’s doctrine & values (see website)
    • Aspiration to the office of overseer, and qualified (1Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9; 1Pet 5:1-4)
    • Heart of a shepherd for the flock entrusted to his care
    • Track record of evangelistic heart and lifestyle
    • Track record of effective discipling in one-on-one and small group settings
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong & spiritual management and people-oversight skills
    • Strong & spiritual organizational and administrative skills
    • Team player who can work well with and complementary to the lead pastor
    • Graduate theological degree or comparable training strongly preferred
    • Relevant pastoral ministry experience (per the Job Description) required

    Job Description

    • Shepherding oversight of “Bethel Kids” Ministry and Student Ministry (7th-12th grades)
    • Provide vision and direction in cooperation with ministry leaders
    • Oversee PT (10 hrs/wk) Children’s Ministry Director
    • Support and train existing volunteers and help identify and recruit new volunteers
    • Ministry of the Word
    • Preaching (~6-10x/yr)
    • Teaching (e.g. periodic Discipleship Curriculum classes, membership class, etc.)
    • Biblical counseling
      • Track record of effectiveness in pastoral counseling
      • Relevant counseling training preferred
    • Oversight of local outreach
      • Help shape vision and strategy
      • Mobilize the church in active engagement
    • Oversight of Planning Center, website, and social media
    • Provide vision and direction
    • Oversee volunteers
    • Shepherding oversight of assimilation process (guest welcome, welcome team, etc.)
    • Customary pastoral responsibilities: visitation, weddings, funerals, etc.
