Job Description

Over the past several years, our church has grown from one Sunday service to three services, each with its own distinctive style.  We are seeking a full time Associate Pastor who, as a unifier, will help to maintain a single body of Christ and, as a challenger, will encourage us to grow in our walk as disciples.  This person will have a worship leading presence in the modern worship service each Sunday and be actively involved in the planning of all worship services.

  • Collaborate with Senior Pastor and staff to develop an overall vision and direction to provide a singular worship experience across all services
  • Offer pastoral presence and praise band leadership in Worship Café (modern worship)
  • Oversee and manage all music programs, including chancel choir and children’s choir, and music staff, including the traditional service’s director of choirs and accompanist
  • Provide strategic leadership to adult discipleship programs
  • Preach sermons that proclaim God’s Word with clarity, warmth and conviction on an as-needed basis

  • Exhibits growth and maturity in their own faith through regular prayer, Bible study and devotional time
  • Personal integrity, humility and demonstration of the fruit of the Spirit
  • Relational – a heart for Jesus with the ability to connect with people of various ages in our multi-generational congregation
  • Cultivating and investing in the next generation
  • A wise, capable and collaborative leader and manager, whom staff and church officers trust
  • A passion for evangelism
  • Capable of leading worship services that are engaging and inspiring, leading all worshippers to encounter the Living God
  • Willingness to address the compelling and challenging subjects of the day without compromise, but with grace, supported by scripture

  • Currently ordained or able to be ordained in ECO
  • Master of divinity or theology from an accredited seminary
  • Agreement with ECO Essential Tenets
  • Prior experience in planning worship services of various styles
  • Experience in leading modern worship music and a praise band
  • Appreciation and understanding of traditional hymns and music style
  • Experience in leading adult discipleship programs
  • Firm grounding in God’s word
